Week 10 once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Buffalo Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' saying that attracts so many fans into the NFL

That result may have opened opportunities for the New England Patriots to creep back into a top spot they used to occupy, with a remaining games that provides them an edge over their eight and two rivals

Over in the National Football Conference the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had ideal outcomes to set up a monster clash in week 11, while our player of the week is pursuing milestones as well as the MVP award

The Breakdown - Just a Bad Day for Buffalo?

Josh Allen in action
Was Josh Allen try too much or could it simply have been a poor performance for the Bills?

Could it simply have been an emotional letdown from defeating Kansas City the previous week or a deeper issue? That's the question for the Bills to address

The Bills had won seven in a consecutive games against Miami but were outperformed from the beginning as the Miami team emerged as 30-13 victors in an surprising result - and performance

MVP Josh Allen only got the team's opening first down in the third period and first points in the fourth - admittedly Miami had 10 days to prepare but it was nonetheless a massive egg produced by one of the league's best offenses

Dolphins quarterback Tua threw two touchdowns but rusher De'Von Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 total yards and two scores

Bottling up the NFL's top rushing attack was crucial too, with Cook and teammates recording just eighty-six yards, their lowest of the year and just over fifty percent their 161.5 yard average

Then there were the three crucial ball losses, and the pair from Josh Allen in particular. An interception in the end zone resulting in a nine minute drive yielded no points, and his fourth-quarter fumble that Miami converted to seven points just later

It was classic 'previous Bills teams' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a deficit on defensive side and Allen trying to do too much to rescue his squad from the situation - not the composed, controlled, well-balanced Bills we've witnessed this year

The Dolphins have demonstrated a bit of everything this season so the jury's out on whether this is the start of something, but for Buffalo they'll need an immediate bounce-back in a tough game against Tampa Bay next week as the New England are sneaking into a nice lead at the top of the American Football Conference East

Spotlight - New England See Path to Surprise Top Seed

Speaking of the Patriots, they're one of three different eight and two teams in the league, all AFC teams, but could they be the best?

One could pick holes in the Patriots, Denver and Indianapolis really for feasting on the weaker opponents, with only five of their combined twenty-four victories achieved against teams with a positive record - and one of those was the Colts beating the Broncos

Denver beat the champion Eagles in Philly and are masters of the final quarter while Indianapolis can rely on Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's victory in Tampa to their prime time success in Buffalo appears to be a statement

Their two defeats came in new head coach Vrabel's first three games, with seven straight wins, just like Denver, from that point - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a week off to get ready was huge

Maye's MVP claims won't go away, and he definitely earns point for bravery after absorbing some hard tackles in Tampa but hanging in there to guide his side to victory

The defensive unit is solid and rookie rusher Henderson burst onto the scene on Sunday with 147 yards and two exciting scores of 55 and 69 yards - establishing himself as just the fifth runner to exceed 22 miles per hour this season on his initial touchdown

Although you can debate who 'the best' is technically, the Patriots should be favourites to finish with the top record thanks to their schedule - which includes just one game against a successful opponent, albeit a significant contest against the Bills

Traveling to Baltimore is challenging too, but Denver have it more difficult in the AFC West division with the Kansas City to play twice, the Los Angeles Chargers (who could also challenge for top seed but encounter the identical challenge) and additionally the Green Bay on the schedule

The Colts also play the Kansas City, and have the Seahawks, San Francisco and two matchups with the 5-4 Jaguars to face. There's a considerable distance to go but the opportunity is open for a surprise number one position in the AFC

Coming Up - Rams & Seahawks Prepare for Week 11 Showdown

Two teams with solid claims to be better than all of the three eight and two sides are National Football Conference West opponents the Seattle and Los Angeles, who both put up forty points to reach seven and two before next week's major game between the two in LA

They've both secured four victories in a consecutive games, have signal callers in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold performing at an high standard (although Sam Darnold had ball security problems on Sunday) with top receivers, and defensive units giving up under 20 points a contest

Each could easily be without a loss as too - particularly the Los Angeles as their pair of losses occurred in overtime against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philadelphia when they had a potentially winning field goal with the last kick blocked and run back by the Philadelphia for a touchdown

The Seahawks also lost to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in the opening week, before falling to the final play of the contest against the Tampa Bay - so they're genuinely among the best sides in the league

The upcoming game on Sunday could be the most exciting of the season so far
