Ex- Doctor Charged with Assault Charges Involving 38 Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities report that a former physician stands accused of performing assaults against thirty-eight victims who were under his care.

The Serious Charges

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – comprising acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.

One senior CPS official stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

The Police Inquiry

These allegations follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.

Spencer will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

Breakdown of Offences

The charging documents said the 45 charges comprise:

• 15 counts of sexual assault.
• 17 counts of assault by penetration.
• Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
• Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
• 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
