NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage includes live text of the weekend matchups via various channels, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, radio commentary is available on designated networks covering a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six in the NFL season , after last week's discussion regarding two top teams being possible championship contenders, they both lost their unbeaten records.

Striking in those games were the number of infractions both committed. The Eagles did so in key moments so they kind of defeated themselves after leading 17-3 going into the final quarter versus Denver, who play overseas this Sunday.

But it was good to observe how Denver's QB Bo Nix was able to overcome that deficit before direct three scoring drives on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the victory 21-17.

Denver have the defensive player of the year in cornerback their star corner. They are number one in red zone defence, while Philadelphia are number one in red zone offence, and Denver prevailed in that battle.

They had the Eagles' number in terms of simulated pressure. They weren't necessarily rushing more than four pass rushers instead they could position two linebackers in the 'A' gap then drop them out and send a slot defender from the outside.

Early on of the season, we said during a show how Denver could be this season's surprise contenders. They ended the previous year well then excelled of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's dark horses?

New TE their tight end has excelled big while recent RB their rusher is a guy the team trusts. He's currently 5th in the NFL for rushing yards (over 400) and tied for fourth in rushing scores (4).

It's impressive that the coach Sean Payton has "RUSH!" at the top on his call sheet.

That shows how the Broncos represent a squad aiming to prioritize the run, because one can achieve much based on that approach. It slows down the pass rush and keeps you in positive down and distances.

It's also helped QB the young passer, who entered the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick last year, passing for 29 touchdown passes – second only to a star QB for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs have powerful arms to pass anywhere, but they lack in the same way that Nix has. He has exceptional passing ability, which is different, plus he's so athletic.

His strengths are his mobility, the capacity to throw while moving, and finding different arm angles to make throws when he rolls out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He is able to throw that layered pass over the middle and over the corner.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he displays great composure under pressure and is not really fazed by the blitz. He tries to evade being tackled whenever possible and is able throw under pressure. He has sharp intelligence and remains very decisive.

If you constantly rush it consumes time and forces the defence to stay on the field for longer, and when you've got an athletic quarterback the defense has to defend the field downfield side to side. This proves draining.

The quarterback has pushed back with the coach during games sometimes and I think the coach likes that fire, seeing him as such a competitor. I think it's exciting for the coach to have a young quarterback that is kind of like play-dough. The coach can truly develop him how he desires to build it. I think it's a unique opportunity for him.

Payton owns a championship and now surpassed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed everything. In my opinion the success the Broncos are having offensively is largely due to his leadership, his play-calling, his game sense – and the combination with the QB aids make him into who he is.

You wouldn't want a better guy in your ear, to assist you during difficult moments and boost confidence.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. But are they strong enough to go against an elite team at its best? Since that wasn't championship-level play from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Right now, it's unlikely Denver are incredible. They're working above average, which is a good place to hold their division. All they need to do to continue this path.

They excel at embracing their forte, that is the ground game, and this is precisely what they should do against the Jets in London. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

The Jets have allowed 140 rushing yards each contest (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (in the bottom ten), and they're the only team without a win a game.

Since the league began tracking turnovers decades ago, this team are also the first team to go without a single takeaway through five games, this is surprising considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City are off to a poor start after a recent loss by the Jaguars.

After this Sunday's game, Denver have a manageable slate until their break (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, the Chiefs are 2-3 while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could challenge for the top of the division.

It depends on what version Kansas City shows up they meet because the Broncos {beat|def
