Toronto Blue Jays Claim World Series Meeting With the Dodgers

Canada's MLB team reached their first World Series since 1993 by beating the Mariners in the final game seven of the AL Championship Series.

Down by two runs, Springer smashed a three-run home run in the seventh inning, propelling the only Canadian franchise in the majors to a four games to three victory in the best-of-seven series. Awaiting them are the Los Angeles Dodgers, holders of the reigning title, in the forthcoming World Series.

"I'm thrilled for this squad, Toronto, Canada," Springer stated, a key player of the Houston Astros team that claimed the 2017 title. "What an amazing experience."

George Springer has now hit twenty-three post-season home runs, placing him third on the list after Ramirez (29) and Jose Altuve (27).

"I can't think of another person on planet Earth that I'd prefer in that situation except for Springer with his playoff prowess," said manager John Schneider.

Seattle, after leading the series 2-0 and 3-2, are still the sole team yet to make an appearance in a championship series.

Wilson stated "without a doubt that it hurts" following his club's elimination at Rogers Centre, but applauded their performance in the campaign.

"It's a special team. It's a shame that we finished on the unsuccessful side of this one," he remarked.

The Blue Jays claimed the World Series on their two prior appearances in 1992 and '93, and are set to host the Los Angeles in the first game on the upcoming Friday.
